In order to limit the spread of Covid-19 and maintain the health of all employees, we restricted our consular business to Ottawa only.

That means that there will be no consular hours in Burlington, Vancouver and Calgary until further notice.


Official consular hours in Ottawa are:                                                                    

Monday  10:00 AM - 01:00 PM, 

Wednesday  10:00 AM - 01:00 PM and 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM 

Thursday  10:00 AM - 01:00 PM


Please make an appointment by phone or email prior to your arrival.


We encourage you to use e-mail as the best means of obtaining information. Please direct your questions to: sloembassy.ottawa(at)gov.si 

For telephone inquiries please call +1 613 565 5781 and you will be redirected to the appropriate representative of the Embassy. Phone inquiries can be made Monday - Friday, between 10:00 AM and 02:00 PM.

Consular hours in Toronto area are held once a month.


**Please note that consular hours are for Slovenian citizens only and no visa applications will be accepted.


Consulate General of the Republic Slovenia is from 01 January 2020 at new location in Burlington, ON.

Therefore, the consular hours will take place at the above mentioned address (and not in Etobicoke, Browns Line).


Important notice:

We would like to inform you that from now on consular hours will be published only 2-3 months in advance. January and February 2020 dates are already published (above).

Also starting in January it will be mandatory to book an appointment for consular hours. Therefore, please book an appointment for consular hours in Burlington by contacting the Embassy in Ottawa (via telephone, 613 565 5781 or email, sloembassy.ottawa(at)gov.si).

We will not be able to serve clients without an appointment. For each consular hours date we will accept and serve a limited number of clients.


On occasion, consular hours may also be held in other provinces / cities across Canada, in coordination with the Slovenian Communities. These cities include Calgary and Vancouver (occasionally also Winnipeg). 

For information on whether consular hours may be held in your area, please contact the Consulate or the Embassy. Please note that these hours (in Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg or other cities) are held for Slovenian citizens only and that no visa applications will be accepted.


Consular visits to western Canada are typically scheduled every six months but can be more or less frequent based on the needs of the Slovenian community. Seeing as these visits are scheduled based on demand, if you are in need of consular services please contact the Embassy in order to be added to the list.

In case that consular hours would be organized in Winnipeg, the location is at Slovenian Association  Winnipeg - Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall, 95 MacDonald Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R3.
